It’s finally feeling like January here in Georgia, and that means it’s tax time! Oh, boy! Everyone is jumping for joy, right? Yeah, right, ok then… Last tax season was pretty messy with new Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) regulations, but they mostly affected people without health insurance or getting it through the Exchanges. This year, Employer mandates start kicking in, so if you have insurance through your employer, you should receive a 1095. We need it along with all your other tax docs.
And, of course, Congress got busy late in December (again) on tax law changes and updates. There were actually some good things this year along with the bad. Take a look at our January 2016 Newsletter for a summary. And finally, beware of identity theft schemes! They are even worse this year! We list a few things you can do to help protect yourself in our Newsletter.
The first day we can efile personal income tax returns this year is January 19, 2016. Until then, we are in the office M-F 9-4, so call or email if you have any questions or want to make an appointment.
