Tax Facts 2020 Newsletter and Coupon

Despite Congress being mostly dysfunctional these days (ok, they’ve never really been functional), they still manage to collect and spend our hard earned $$ each year.  This year, they passed yet another “Omnibus” on their last day of work for the year (something like day 165/365 – hard workers, eh?) kicking the can on tax law changes.  The good news is they included “extenders” to a bunch of expiring tax benefits; the bad news is they made some of them retroactive to TY2018, so some of you may have to amend your taxes to get the benefits.  Egads!  Like taxes aren’t a big enough headache already! There’s certainly no shortage of things to talk about in our January 2020 Newsletter which will be out in another week or so.

The first day we can efile personal income tax returns this year is January 27, 2020, but we can prepare your taxes right now (assuming you have all your tax docs) and have them ready to go when the IRS opens.  We can even try to get you a pre-acknowledgement refund anticipation loan (up to $6000) before the IRS opens.  Like last year, the IRS will be holding up pretty much ALL refunds until after February 15, but the sooner you file, the sooner you’ll get your refund.

Our office hours for January are M-F 9-4.  We will have extended hours including Saturdays starting Feb 2.  Please call or email if you have any questions or want to make an appointment.

Reminder – You can Securely Send Files to Tax Facts using our secure portal (like Drop Box).  Just click the link in this email or at our website and use the Guest Upload button if you don’t have an account.  This is safer than emailing us your information without encrypting (password protecting) it.  We are also going to use our TFsecure portal for e-signatures and e-payments again this year.

Another Reminder – We will be sending our personalized Organizers via TFsecure over the next few days.  These are a handy reminder of what documents you had last year.  Let me know if you have additional questions or need help getting organized.
